Construction Prequalification Questionnaires, CHAS Accreditation and SafeContractor etc.

The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and similar schemes (SafeContractor, Constructionline etc.) are used by many Clients and Local Authorities to assess potential contractors before authorising them to submit tenders or carry out work.

We have assisted numerous contractors to successfully gain accreditation with such schemes. In fact, we are so confident of our support with your application that we offer this assurance – No accreditation – No fee!

“We write to thank you for all your advice, support and assistance in helping C KEW INSTALLATIONS to gain CHAS accreditation.

Your professional manner and attention to detail enabled us to work with you through this process to a satisfactory completion. As health and safety always has and continues to be our highest priority, we look forward to working with you as our health and safety consultant in the future.”
Simon Peregrine, Director, C Kew Installations

“I have been impressed and have admired the high standards of health and safety that he set and - importantly - achieved. The approach taken by Dean in respect of health and safety at Rushden and Diamonds epitomised the whole Nene Park project at the time, and gave the local authority inspectorate confidence in its dealings with both the individual and the organisation.

I feel that this confidence and subsequent reputation is based on a no-nonsense approach to managing health and safety, aligned with a willingness to learn from others, to embrace good practice and to listen to advice. Dean has demonstrated a willingness to work in partnership with the local authority which has paid dividends in terms of minimizing the risks to the health and safety of those who worked at or visited Nene Park and it has left a legacy of a sustainable health and safety culture.

I am confident - on the basis of Dean's work at Nene Park - that he would add value to any organisation's approach to health and safety.”
M J Deacon, Head of Environmental Services, East Northamptonshire Council

“I wanted to thank you for the work you have been continuing to do for Bright Horizons in 2011. Your knowledge, expertise and commitment to Health and Safety is a real asset to us and you continue to make a significant contribution to our Governing Board and our working practices across our group.

The training you have delivered this year, ranging from our front line managers to our senior teams has been very valuable and is continuing to develop our knowledge, skills and abilities as well as mould strong leadership behaviours and attitudes towards a culture of effective health and safety management, occupational health and behavioural safety.

We look forward to continuing to work with you in 2012 and building our safer working practices and management systems to support our day to day work and the strategic aims of our organisation.”
Carole Edmond, Managing Director, Bright Horizons Family Solutions Ltd

““It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you Dean. I was dreading taking over responsibility for H&S but you made it so easy for me. 8 years on and I’m a convert!”

I can confirm that Dean Howells of Essential Safety has delivered training and presentations to the Association’s staff team and Board of Management.

I have received very positive feedback from staff and Board Members alike. Dean presents information in an interesting and understandable format to suit a wide variety of audiences. ”
Isabel Jekyll, Operations Director, Rockingham Forest Housing Association

“I picked up my Health and Safety Manual comprising over 1000 pages and thought there must be a better way of doing this. Essential Safety offered to help us with all our health & safety concerns and took my problems away with them. Now I can get on and do some work.”
Fred Murphy, Partner, Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants, Corby

“I am writing to you on behalf of the School to express our gratitude for the excellent support and advice that you have provided to us over the past two years as part of our Health and Safety Audit and Fire Risk Assessment.

It is fair to say that in a relatively short space of time, your support and advice has helped me to change the culture within the school by raising awareness and reducing uncertainty. I know that the risk assessment workshop training sessions which you presented to staff were well received, even by the most sceptical of participants!

Equally, the generic health and safety training which you designed specifically for our site staff was a resounding success and has instilled discipline and due consideration for basic health and safety procedures into their daily routines.”
Colin Hinds, Business Manager, Sir Christopher Hatton School, Wellingborough

“We were very pleased with the training provided by Essential Safety and would have no hesitation recommending them to other organisations.”
Ron Pearce, Stadium Manager, West Ham United Football Club, Upton Park

“When we moved to our new offices at the Headway Business Park I picked up my Health and Safety Manual comprising over 1000 pages and thought there must be a better way of doing this.

Essential Safety offered to help us with all our health & safety concerns and took my problems away with them. Now I can get on and do some work.”
Fred Murphy, Partner, Moore Stephens Chartered Accountants, Corby

“Essential’s fire design review helped to convince the Building Inspector that an additional staircase was not required, significantly reducing our Client’s overall project costs.”
Trevor Mastin, T.M Construction Services

“On behalf of the Northamptonshire Sports Safety Advisory Group I have been asked to write and thank you for your consistent professional and dedicated approach to stadium safety at Nene Park over the past 10 years.
